The Commerce Rotary Club's highest-grossing single-event fundraiser of the year, Commerce Idol, is set for April 2nd. The event's proceeds support scholarships for graduating seniors in Commerce ISD, and monetary prizes are awarded to the first place winners in each of four categories: 18+, High School, Middle School, and Elementary School, as well as an audience appreciation award added in 2015.

The deadline for auditions is fast approaching, though - Friday, March 25th. That's the last day to 'get your act together' and submit a video (think youtube or vimeo) or make a note that you need a live audition, which takes place Thursday, March 24th. Application and fee information is available at the audition link here, or when you mouse over 'Commerce Idol' at www.commercerotary.org. The online application is where you'll attach a link to the youtube or vimeo video of your act.

We're excited to announce that we'll be joined by special performer and guest judge Hannah Kirby, who rose to national fame during last season on NBC's The Voice. Her most recent album, Fire In My Soul, is available now on iTunes. Look for Hannah to perform at the end of the competition as judges scores are tallied.

The cash prizes for first place are as follows: 18+: $300. High school: $200. Middle School: $150. Elementary School: $100. People's Choice: $250. The People's Choice award will be chosen by the audience and will be the top vote-getter who did NOT win first place in a category.
